I had to say goodbye to my James today, he is on the way back to Sydney. It was SO hard. Here’s the thing about long distance though- it makes you appreciate the time you spend together EVEN more. James will only be gone for three months, but wow they will be the longest three months of my life. Everyone always asks me if a long distance relationship is worth it. It 10000% is. There are a lot of tears and missing each other but it’s the best thing in the world. He is my best friend and my other half so I know we will get through this together!!!
HOW TO SURVIVE LONG DISTANCE:
Get busy: I’m working extra while James is gone so that my mind is somewhere else. Being around my work friends and focusing one task makes it easier and makes time go by faster.
Books books books: Read as much as you can. It’s the best thing ever and it makes time fly by.
Be ok with spending time by yourself: James are I are together 24/7 when I’m with him. While he’s gone I focus on getting lots of “me time” and thinking about the personal goals that I want to accomplish.
Netflix: I watch lots of Netflix series alone LOL but it lets you get away from missing your love.
Family &friend Time: There are still people that love you that are close to you. Spend time with those people while you’re separated from each other and keep those connections.
Cry: It’s OK to cry and show emotion ok? Don’t keep it all locked in. Write about it. Let your stomach ache with sadness. It’s not forever.
